Cate Kelly is our founder and president. In addition to being the president of Students for Sustainability, Cate also co-leads the ‘Green Thumb Club’ at her high school where she will be a senior at this coming fall. Cate has always been very passionate about youth activism and climate justice. After graduation, she plans to study environmental policy and analysis.

Corah Johnson is our treasurer. Corah has always had a passion for environmental justice. In third grade, she founded her elementary school’s recycling program and in high school, was an active member of Marian’s Sustainability Club. Corah attends the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she majors in pre-law and women’s studies.
Lukes Loontjer is the the head of Twitter. Lukes has been an active member since March of 2019. This coming fall, he will be a senior at Westside High School. In addition to being a member of Students for Sustainability, Lukes is also involved in several clubs at school including student council, beta club, mu alpha theta, and project unify.

Elizabeth Walters is the head of Instagram. In addition to being a member of Students for Sustainability, Elizabeth also participates in ‘Green Thumb Club’ at Mercy High School. Outside of her environmental work, Elizabeth is involved in Mercy’s mock trial team, volunteers at the Nebraska Medicine Center, and teaches religious education to third graders at Mary Our Queen parish.

Maryclare O’Connor is a core member of the social media team and an active member of Students for Sustainability since April 2019. SFS has inspired Maryclare to become a member of Duchesne Academys sustainability committee where she will be a senior at this coming fall. Outside of her environmental work, Maryclare plays varsity tennis and will start writing for Duchesne’s “Bird Post” come her senior year

TJ Pfannenstiel is SFS’s policy researcher. In addition to being a core member of Students for Sustainability, TJ participates in mock trial and photography at Skutt Catholic High School, where he will be a senior at this fall. With an avid interest in environmental policy, he plans on majoring in political science and eventually going to law school.
Anselma Hountondji is a core member of SFS and our very own graphic designer. Anselma is an active member in Mercy High Schools Green Thumb Club where she will be a senior this coming fall. She is also the cofounder of Mercy’s book/movie club and is involved in show choir and speech team. Look out for her creative and always sustainable designs :)
